A little sprinkle of cheese is often what makes the dish when it comes to Italian food, but if you’re eating dairy-free, this presents a challenge. You don’t have to lose out, though. My homemade vegan parmesan cheese is made from dairy-free ingredients, but still adds that salty little punch that is added to a recipe by traditional parmesan. Give it a try! You’ll find yourself pleasantly surprised about just how delicious it is!
- ¾ cup cashews
- 2 Tbsp pine nuts
- 1 Tbsp hemp seeds
- ¼ cup nutritional yeast
- 1 tsp pink Himalayan salt
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- Add all ingredients to a food processor or blender.
- Pulse until the consistency of parmesan cheese.
- Sprinkle away! You can use this just like you would a traditional, homemade parmesan cheese or in any recipe that calls for parmesan cheese. It freezes great!
