[0:00 – 1:10] Prelude

Dr. Z: Our neighbors have never heard of bioactive compounds. Like, yeah.

Mama Z: “I go to the grocery store and I buy bioactive compounds.”

Dr. Z: No. You’ve heard of carbs. You’ve heard of vitamins and minerals. You’ve heard of fats and proteins, right? You’ve heard macronutrients. Why not bioactive compounds? What are bioactive compounds? You know what they are, you need to slap yourself in the knee and be like, “I knew that.”

Flavonoids, carotenoids, polyphenols, all plant chemicals with anti-oxidant properties that protect your body cells from damage caused by free radicals. You’ve heard about that, right?

Mama Z: Yes.

Dr. Z: Well, the free radicals, those dangerous components throughout your body are what cause illness and hasten your aging. So, if your diet is lacking in a variety of foods full of different of bioactive compounds. You’re going to be sick, and you will gain weight. You know what else?

Mama Z: What?

Dr. Z: And this is what really blew my mind. You know what else is a part of the bioactive compound world?

Mama Z: What’s that?

Dr. Z: Essential oils.

Mama Z: Yes, they are.

[2:11 – 5:54] Diffuser Reveal: Thyroid-Supporting Blend

Dr. Z: Yay!

Mama Z: Yay!

Dr. Z: Hey, congratulations!

Mama Z: Congratulations!

Dr. Z: For you though. You are a first-time author. Tomorrow is the birth of her new book.

Mama Z: Yes. But my recipes appeared in The Healing Power of Essential Oils, and I helped birth that baby.

Dr. Z: Yeah, but your name is on the book this time.

Mama Z: It wouldn’t have mattered if my name was not on book or on book, because I was every bit a part of the last one.

Dr. Z: That’s not true. That’s not true. You are now a world famous office.

Mama Z: Wow.

Dr. Z: High-five, give me a high-five. You guys couldn’t hear that. That was a really lame high-five. What you just missed, Mama Z was yawning, just about four minutes ago.

Mama Z: Oh, stop it.

Dr. Z: And for those people who are watching on YouTube or Facebook, you saw her. Make sure, Chris, our camera video expert, “Now, Chris, did you catch that?”

Chris: Yes.

Dr. Z: That’s great. Mama Z’s yawning over here. I’m like Sabrina, tomorrow is when our book publishes. We’re going to have so much fun today. And she’s like yawning. And you smiled, you tried to cheat your way through it, and you know you’re guilty. Kid’s hand caught in the cookie jar!

Mama Z: Okay. So, what happens is when we film two episodes, I take a lunch break in between episode one and two. And sometimes Dr. Z takes a little bit longer to get back on the set.

Dr. Z: No. No. You put 100 drops of myrrh in the diffuser because the stopper fell out. You just like poured out myrrh.

Mama Z: No, actually what happened was is the little like….

Dr. Z: I’m gagging with too much myrrh over here.

Mama Z: stopper, the dripper got stuck to the lid. So, when I opened it up I went to go get a drip and it went glug, glug, glug.

Dr. Z: All of it. And you got to go back to cleaning diffuser school. Anyway, welcome everyone.

Mama Z: It’s in the diffusing blend.

Dr. Z: This is episode 16 of the Natural Living Family podcast. We are going to be talking about the essential oils diet, how to lose weight and transform your health with the power of essential oils and bioactive foods.

Mama Z: But before that I’m going to talk about what’s in the diffuser.

Dr. Z: No, you don’t have to because all there is, is myrrh.

Mama Z: No, that is so not true.

Dr. Z: That is all there is. This is straight myrrh.

Mama Z: It is not.

Dr. Z: And I’m about to like…

Mama Z: I washed it out. And this is the thing. When you make a mistake in your diffuser all you have to do is wash it out. Like I just did.

Dr. Z: I don’t know. I’m tasting myrrh in the air, Sabrina. You did not wash this.

Mama Z: To your discrediting of me, it has been going for a half an hour before I washed it out.

Dr. Z: Myrrh dripping from the walls here.

Mama Z: No we don’t. So, one of the things that people had said was, “Due to my thyroid it has always been hard to lose weight. So, what do I put in my diffuser?”

So, what you do is you put two drops of clove, two drops of myrrh, and two drops of lemongrass. And so, that’s what we have in our diffuser because so many of the people who have had that problem have changed their lifestyle with this book, incorporated oils and literally people who haven’t taken off any weight in years are taking off weight.

So, this is the thyroid blend.

Dr. Z: Yep.

Mama Z: Myrrh, clove, and lemongrass.

Dr. Z: And you can easily add four drops of each, put it in a ten milliliter roller bottle. Fill it up with some fractionated coconut oil and that is a great roll-on to apply over you thyroid. I would add a few drops of frankincense. So, I would do four drops of each including frankincense, myrrh, clove, lemongrass and frankincense. And that could do a great help on your thyroid.

Mama Z: And when I had my molar pregnancy, my thyroid was completely off. And those are some of the oils that I used, not only in my diffuser blend but also my roll-on bottle as well.

[5:55 – 13:38] The Essential Oils Diet Book Is HERE!

Dr. Z: So, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. For everyone, and you know who you are. That 200 plus people that have given us reviews. Right now we have well over 200 reviews on iTunes, Stitcher, and Google Play, and all of the great places people listen to our podcast.

And I want to give some shout-outs to some people. Right now we are at a 4.9 star rating, which is fun.

Mama Z: Yay.

Dr. Z: And Deb and John left us a great review and I love it. And I just want to thank you Deb and John for saying what you said. And they’ve said, “I’ve just started listening. I love these!! Dr. Z and Mama Z, you guys are great. You’re not afraid to air all of the bad along with the good. And you seem to have so much fun together. And as a family keep up the wonderful work. Love you guys.”

Mama Z: Aww.

Dr. Z: Love you too.

Mama Z: Yeah, that’s so sweet.

Dr. Z: I know. I love it. So, keep it up. Keep up whether you’re streaming on YouTube or Facebook. Like, heart, subscribe. Whether you are part of whatever, I don’t know, just join, group. It’s us. This is a family. And that’s why we are the Natural Living Family. And that’s why we can’t wait to talk about the journey of our new book.

Mama Z: Yes.

Dr. Z: So, this is all about The Essential Oils Diet. We are going to help you lose weight, transform your health with the power of essential oils and bioactive foods. And tomorrow is the global publication date of this book. For those people have written books to say that we’ve turned this book around in a year from start to finish. And working with a publishing house like we are, our publishing house is Penguin Random House, the largest house in the world.

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: And they just don’t turn around books in a year very easily. When you’re working with a house like that, it’s a long process. Like we go through months of editing.

Here’s the issue we had to have the manuscript done in three months, which is the craziness of it all because they needed nine months to edit it, get typesetting, get the cover, and all of that stuff.

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: Three months.

Mama Z: And I know Dr. Z will talk a little bit later about the process that he did for that. But I had a different process in how I laid out some of my stuff. And part of the journey and all of that.

Dr. Z: It was wonderful. It was wonderful. And first of all huge kudos. We had a writer and we had an editor help us, Olivia. Thank you our dear. You are lovely, W wonder to work with. We spent hours with Olivia on the phone.

Mama Z: Oh, my goodness.

Dr. Z: And you know, for those of you who wonder, One way of writing a book, here’s a cool hack or cool tip. Is if you work with a professional writer to help you, you can actually talk to him or her on the phone. You can record the discussion. Get that transcribed. And your very words become easily put on print.

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: And then you have someone editing that and piece it together. It’s really a smart way of doing it.

Mama Z: So, you’ve said this is the year of the Mama Z.

Dr. Z: 2019.

Mama Z: Yes. And because of all of the classes that we put out, there’s so many times when I’m in hair and make-up at 6:00 in the morning, okay.

Dr. Z: Yeah, lots of it.

Mama Z: So, that’s just how it happens. And I already have what I’ve worked out for that day and all of that stuff. So, many times our writer, Olivia, would say, “You are revolutionizing my life.” Because she and I would talk, and it sometimes be 3:00 in the morning her time because she was on the west coast.

Dr. Z: Oh, yeah, you’re right.

Mama Z: And I would be in there getting my hair and make-up done, and she would be recording me. And I would say all of the things that were in the book. Then there were other times when I was weeding the garden and going over stories. And then even I was at Costco a couple of times getting all of our family groceries and talking to her and being recorded. So, I worked it in every week that we did, and every discussion according to where I was going to be, that I knew I was going to be somewhere for a specific amount of time that then I could be recorded. And so, it was wild.

Dr. Z: Wild. So, The Healing Power of Essential Oils published just 14 months ago. That was my first book, of which dozens and dozens of Mama Z’s recipes were featured. We had 17,500 books published by the time the book sold. So, we had just about 15,000 preorders. And then, the week that the book come out, we had another 25,000 sell. So, after the first week we had like nearly 18,000 books sold. A, that was unheard of. Nothing of that has been done in the essential oil space. And our publisher was like, “Wow.” Our publisher came up to us and said, “We need to another book.” And then, so many of you that met us at book signings and conferences said, “When’s your next book coming out?”

It’s like asking a marathon runner when’s the next time she’s going to race, right? It’s like give me a minute to break. I just won the gold medal. Give me four years to the next Olympics kind of thing.

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: Well, everyone wanted another book. And so, the one thing, we were talking to our book agent, we were talking to our editor. What is the number one problem that people have that we know we can help them with?

And weight came up over and over and over again.

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: Weight management, how to deal with all of these fad diets, how to really start tackling disease at the root cause.

Mama Z: Right. And then, also the hacks on how to do it so it wasn’t going to be overwhelming for people.

Dr. Z: Yes.

Mama Z: And the recipes that weren’t going to just be bacon and peanut butter or cardboard in order to help you and your family navigate this process.

Dr. Z: Yep, yep.

Mama Z: And I’ll tell you when it came time for the recipes part and the exercises part, I couldn’t have done it without our nanny and our college interns. They literally allowed me to lock myself in the basement. And some of the collections of the recipes I had typed out for classes. Some of them I had in this place and that place. Some were on the website. But there were some that were literally on pieces of paper that were written out. And so, putting those altogether, and literally birthing this book because it really was a process.

And not only just the exercises, but writing out what they meant, and then filming the things the specials that you get with the book.

Dr. Z: Yeah, the book bonuses. We’ll talk about that in just a minute.

Mama Z: Yeah. We’re going to talk about that.

Dr. Z: So, let’s give a couple of quick shout-outs. Nannies, babysitters, people.

Mama Z: Yeah. So, Alex Chapman and Kayla Kirkendahl. And then, Fay and Norman, and then Natalie Len.

Dr. Z: And I’ll send just huge thanks to our team. I kind of feel like we’re at the Academy Awards. Thank you to the academy.

Mama Z: Seriously.

Dr. Z: But no, you guys have no idea.

Mama Z: Without each and every person.

Dr. Z: Angela our content director and Whitley our CTO/COO, and Erica Muller, and Elizabeth Bond, and Trish Carr, and Cher Bond, and everyone. Chris.

Mama Z: And don’t forget our amazing transcriptionist, Krystal.

Dr. Z: Who transcribed basically the book. Carrie our graphic designer. Folks, we have now John and Christa and Derek. We have 15 people working for us.

[13:39 – 20:14] So What Is the New Book, The Essential Oils Diet, Really About?

The thing about this experience was part of the book title. And we decided as a group and our publisher was really instrumental in choosing the name, The Essential Oils Diet.

And so, when we talk about the word diet, we’re talking in terms of your actual food choices.

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: All right. This isn’t a meal plan designed with cheat days that you’re only supposed to do for a temporary amount of time to lose weight and then get off of it.

Mama Z: Yeah. I don’t know whoever came up with that, but I’ve heard so many people say it. Cheat days are bad.

Dr. Z: Yeah. And so, the word diet actually means the collection of foods that you eat.

Mama Z: So, it is your lifestyle.

Dr. Z: Yeah. That is. So, this essential oils diet book is a transformational book. Let me preface this by reading a verse of the book of Romans Chapter 12. Paul says to the Roman Church, “I appeal to you, therefore, my brother and sisters, by the mercies of God to present your bodies as a living sacrifice.” Let me underline that, because it’s so important. “Wholly and acceptable to God,” which is your spiritual worship. “Do not be conformed to this world. But be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that by testing you may discern what the will of God is, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

A few different things here. That epitomizes the whole thesis of our book, is that our bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit. And like it says right here. I’m not making this up. “Present your bodies.” Paul doesn’t say, “Present your mind.” He doesn’t say, “Present your spirit.” He doesn’t say, “Present your soul.” He says, “Present your bodies a living sacrifice, wholly and acceptable and perfect.” Which is your spiritual worship.

We believe that the way that we eat, what we drink, the things that we put on our skin, this is a spiritual act of worship to God. Knowing that what we’re doing is presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice, wholly, healthy, clean, and righteous before the Lord.

“But don’t be conformed to this world,” this fast food lifestyle, this cheat day diet mentality. But be transformed by the renewing of your mind. So, that you an test what those things are that are good, acceptable, and perfect.

And let us suggest to you that diets are made to be broken. The typical fad protocol out there that claims that you’re going to lose all of these pounds, and you’re going to reach your bikini weight, whatever that is, beach body stuff, which is all based on vanity. We’re trying to help you transform your health from the inside out.

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: Deal with the root cause of disease.

Mama Z: And deal with the root cause of why you’re in the current state you are in, no matter what that is. And whether or not it’s because you’ve had a food addiction of some sort. Or you’re eating emotionally. Or you’re not eating because you’re emotional.

There’s people who can use this book to gain weight and to lose weight. It’s really from where you’re at. It’ll help you grow in each and every area.

Dr. Z: You know, one of my favorite parts of the book is where we talk about, Chapter 9, The Keys to an Abundant Life. We talk about emotional detox. We have this 12-step detox program.

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: I want to actually talk about that. Hopefully, later on I’ll remind myself. You’ve got to remind me. It was just coming to me. I was just talking to a friend of ours. Because they are quoting us in their new book. A friend of ours is writing a book, and they wanted some material on emotional, spiritual cleansing and living for God. And I’m like, “Dude, I got it right here in our book. It’s a 12-step program. It’s really easy.” And let me give you a tip and a little sneak peek. Step one is to forgive. Let it go.

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: Having unforgiveness in your heart is like drinking poison and expecting someone else to be hurt. That’s exactly what unforgiveness does to your spirit. The Bible calls it the root of bitterness that we’re supposed to pluck out. So, it doesn’t matter what happened to you. You don’t have to forget. You don’t have to excuse. You don’t have to make allowance for. But you must forgive. And you must let it go. Let go and let God.

So, regardless of the trauma, the abuse, the experience let that person deal with the Lord. And that’s part of it. And that’s one of the root causes of disease.

And we know Dr. Tony Jimenez, who’s our good friend who runs all of our cancer clinics.

Mama Z: Yes.

Dr. Z: He’s convinced and he’s been working in integrative oncology now for 30 years.

Mama Z: And emotional recall that they do.

Dr. Z: Cancer, according to Dr. Tony is an emotional disorder. Which is why emotional recall healing is part of their protocol. When you go to their clinics in Tijuana, Mexico or Cancun. You are getting emotional recall healing.

Mama Z: And all of the patients that I talk to said that was a powerful thing. Because sometimes it’s something that you don’t know you’re actually compensating for that you never knew was even a problem.

Dr. Z: Yep.

Mama Z: And having things dug out. I think one of my friends said, “Yeah, I went in there and I said, ‘I’m just fine.’ And then within five minutes I was sobbing everywhere.”

Dr. Z: You don’t know.

Mama Z: And it just needed to be released.

Dr. Z: Is that where your inflammation stems from? Is that where the chronic pain? And I’ll say one thing too, on a side note. We’re going to be dropping some random truth bombs on you. Number one cause of fibromyalgia is bitterness. Fibromyalgia is linked to stress, is linked to anxiety. It’s linked to trauma. Fibromyalgia is a disease that quite frankly has befuddled medical doctors for decades. And there really is no true definition of what it is. It’s just multiple, random places on your body where you experience pain.

And I’ve known people, and maybe I should say it this way, I haven’t known anyone that doesn’t deal with the root cause of emotional detoxification and doesn’t receive near miraculous overnight reaction and relief from fibromyalgia.

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: Same thing with just in general chronic pain.

[20:15 – 22:34] Getting to the Root of Health Issues

And so, what is the cause of your weight gain? What is the cause of your diabetes? What is the cause of your whatever? First of all, it’s not yours. And that’s something we teach you about.

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: It’s not yours. It’s not your cancer. It’s not your thyroid issue. What is the cause of the disease? And we tried to disassociate our self from these things.

Mama Z: Yeah. You don’t want to keep it for yourself.

Dr. Z: No. You don’t want to confess that.

Mama Z: You want to get that away.

Dr. Z: Yes.

Mama Z: Away from you.

Dr. Z: That’s another truth bomb for you all. Stop saying, “I am sick.” Stop saying, “My Hashimoto’s.” Okay, it’s yours. You got it. I mean, I’m sorry. Unless you stop confessing it, because we know what the Bible says. Life and death are in the power of the tongue.

Mama Z: And they that love it eat the fruit thereof.

Dr. Z: And if you want your Hashimoto’s, keep on saying, “I have Hashimoto’s.”

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: It’s that simple.

Mama Z: Life and death.

Dr. Z: And there’s a difference though. And we’re not saying live in this faith movement where you deny reality, no. But say, “I believe in God’s free healing.”

Mama Z: Yeah. Because I once knew a guy who one of their teachers had a broken arm. And they literally told her not to wear her sling to class.

Dr. Z: Karate.

Mama Z: I’m like, “I don’t know where you got that out of. That’s not good, right there.”

Dr. Z: Yeah.

Mama Z: But this broken arm is going to be healed in Jesus’s name.

Dr. Z: Yes.

Mama Z: And if you’re dealing with something in your body, we need to start getting before the Lord and utilizing essential oils. And clean eating and other things like that are going to speed up that healing process so much faster.

Dr. Z: Like our friend, Angela, who is just triumphant, triumphant victor over stage two breast cancer, she never called the treatments that she received chemo or radiation. She was like, “My healing days. I’m getting my healing treatments.”

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: Right? Up until this day. Her healing journey, she’s never once said, “My cancer journey.” She called it, “The diagnosis.” Right? “I was given a diagnosis.” But it’s her healing journey. “My healing day.”

Mama Z: That’s right.

Dr. Z: And another one, we’ve got to get her on the show because that’s a powerful story. To be continued, for that.

Mama Z: Absolutely.

Dr. Z: So, this is a transformational book, you all. That’s the core of this, is first transformation. And we help you deal with that at the root cause at your heart, at your spirit, at your soul.

[22:35 – 30:24] How Dr. Z and Mama Z Eat for an Abundant Life

And one thing that really blew my mind is as we did research about how to approach this topic…Because we’ve been eating a certain way. And quite frankly we had no name to put to the way that we lived. Like pescatarian kind of not really, but we’re this way, we’re that way. There’s no like -arian, vegetarian, carnivoran, keto-arian, whatever. Everyone has a name now.

We didn’t have a name to define how we ate. And so, once we started retracing back the foods that we were eating, a common theme arose.

Mama Z: Yes.

Dr. Z: And the theme was what we know now as, and what researchers have been talking about for years, are bioactive foods.

Mama Z: Yep.

Dr. Z: No one’s ever heard of this stuff. I mean we’re the first people on any public stage—and I kid you not—the first people on any sort of public stage, beside researchers that are hiding behind, not hiding, but they’re just stuck behind labs and they’re in the research journals. No one’s reading this stuff. Our neighbors have never heard of bioactive compounds.

Mama Z: “I go to the grocery store and I buy bioactive compounds.”

Dr. Z: You’ve heard of carbs. You’ve heard of vitamins and minerals. You’ve heard of fats and proteins, right? You’ve heard of macronutrients. What about bioactive compounds?

What are bioactive compounds? You know what they are? You’re going to slap yourself on the knee and be like, “I knew that.” Flavonoids, carotenoids, polyphenols, all plant chemicals with anti-oxidant properties that protect your body cells from damage caused by free radicals.

You’ve heard about that, right?

Mama Z: Yes.

Dr. Z: Well, the free radicals, those dangerous components throughout your body are what illness and hasten your aging. So, if your diet is lacking in a variety of foods of different bioactive compounds, you’re going to be sick and you will gain weight.

You know what else? And this is what really blew my mind. You know what else about the bioactive compound world?

Mama Z: What’s that?

Dr. Z: Essential oils.

Mama Z: Yes, they are.

Dr. Z: So, you have this subgroup of compounds. And I’m not using the word nutrients because they’re not. You see there are thousands of bioactive compounds. And more than 8,000 polyphenols alone have been identified. And a diet lacking in these will unfortunately deplete your metabolism. And they will cause a metabolic burden on your body to the point where your body will start to gain weight. And will be hindered in its ability to fight disease.

And so, that will prevent you from enjoying really strong mental and physical peak performance. I’ve got some notes here I want to pull from because this blew my mind.

In 2013 the European Journal of Nutrition published an article that really just made it all come together for me. “Whereas the absence of essential nutrients from the diet results in over deficiency often times with moderate to severe physiological decrements, the absence of bioactive substances from the diet results in suboptimal health.”

What does that mean? Layman’s terms. Fats, carbs, proteins, vitamins, and minerals will keep you alive. But if you want to be well and thrive, you need to have a diet rich in bioactive compounds. You need to have a diet rich in plant-based chemical nutrition: polyphenols, antioxidants, carotenoids, and essential oils.

So, bioactives are “nonessential nutritive substances found in food.” I mean this gets a little confusing for people that don’t remember their nutrition chemistry classes. But bear with me. It’s really straight forward. Essential nutrients are the nutrients that your body needs to live. Again, protein, carbs, fats, vitamins, minerals.

Without water you’re going to die. You can live a life without bioactive compounds, but you’ll never be truly healthy, right? And so, that is what we’re trying to communicate here is we’ve been eating this way, ever since I became a Christian sixteen years ago now. And ever since we met.

We’ve been eating a diet rich in bioactive compounds. And bioactive compounds will ultimately lead to lacking. If you have a diet lacking in bioactive compounds, you’ll have subpar health. And so, for us this is really striking because there’ve been recent spikes in interest surrounding what we call carbohydrate starvation fad diets.

That’s the most extreme meat and animal fat consumption.

Mama Z: Well and not only that but every person that I’ve known that’s been on that kind of voyage for a long enough time, their body starts rejecting vegetables. So, many of my friends are like, “Yeah, I used to be able to stomach that, but since I’ve gone this way, now I’ve had such a hard time.” And I’ve had so many people. The first couple of times I just kind of ignored it, but then when I heard it more and more, it was very regular.

Dr. Z: Well, how about this? The body adapts to what you give it.

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: And so, if you’re giving your body a diet lacking in fiber, your body will do whatever it has to do to expel and create what it has to, to excrete out food. And that gets dangerous, because once you introduce fiber into your diet. It could cause diarrhea, cramping, nausea. There can be a lot of different things.

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: And people don’t realize, “Why do I feel bad eating fruits and vegetables?” Well, because you’ve starved your body from healthy foods and your body is used to living on unhealthy thing and it’s adapted.

So, to me the beauty of it all and the genius of God, is that God’s given our body the remarkable ability to adapt in every environment.

Mama Z: Yeah. Because even people who are our initial challengers had to walk through a period of time. And then they were cleansed and they could eat a lot of vegetables and stuff like that and receive the absolute benefit that came with that.

Dr. Z: That’s why you feel icky. Yes. When you start eating healthy versus nonhealthy, you start to feel icky because your body is naturally detoxifying itself.

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: And it wasn’t up until now. If you’re living on the standard American lifestyle, eating a lot of meat, eating a lot of breads that you shouldn’t be eating that are genetically modified, that are not organic, fast food, your body isn’t cleansing. Your pores aren’t sweating properly. You’re not expelling out the junk.

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: And then you start eating foods that, by the way, give you that cleansing. It’s kind of like every time you eat healthy food it’s essentially cleaning out the toilet.

Mama Z: Or I always love it when we had a friend visit many years ago. And they’re like, “Wow. Your food is so awesome.” And then on the way home they’re like, “Man it must have taken a couple of days to kick in, but we stop 11 times on the way home.”

Dr. Z: That’s a lot going to the potty.

Mama Z: That’s a lot of backing up that got cleaned out. You know what I’m saying? So, we want to live a life that is very detoxified.

Dr. Z: So, just for the record. We are not vegans. We’re not vegetarians. Nor are we saying that people will get sick and die young if they regularly eat meat. Though, and this is key, studies have alluded to this as a possibility. Truly, that if you consume meat on a regular basis you’re at a higher risk of developing heart disease and cancer. It’s just proven.

[30:25 – 34:22] The Impact of Meat on Health and Longevity

And the one concern I have with the ketogenic movement is the mass consumption of meat. And then the obvious concern with this carnivore diet. It’s just asinine. I mean it is the most un-godly approach to food. And what it’s doing is it’s essentially crippling people.

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: It’s crippling people with such a lack of nutrition. You get no bioactive compounds anymore. You’re getting zero to no fiber. And God only knows what these animals are eating.

Mama Z: Well, and this is the other thing about that, because initially, “Oh, well, just get grass-fed.” And then they’re like organic grass-fed. But the thing is that so many people now want organic grass-fed, but then they are still spraying the grass with stuff to make it grow. Because they want to produce as much as they can possibly produce.

Dr. Z: Yes.

Mama Z: Unless you know the people, and you and I know some good farmers and stuff, but not everybody does.

Dr. Z: Yep.

Mama Z: And that’s not what everybody else is doing. And some people start out that way and they end up feeding grains to the animals, and then just all of the other processes involved. And this is chicken country. So we have a lot of chicken plants and stuff.

Dr. Z: Yeah, in Georgia, where we live.

Mama Z: And my friend’s daughter worked at the chicken plant for a little while, while she was in between work. And she’s a vegan now. And that’s the truth because she saw everything that was going on.

Dr. Z: How about our new friend that worked on our fence?

Mama Z: Yeah. Our friend that worked on the fence, Joe, he worked for one the companies.

Dr. Z: Joe if your listening, we love you, man. You’re country. We are from Detroit, Michigan.

Mama Z: He is so sweet.

Dr. Z: And Joe is just straight up country Georgia guy. And he is just as sweet and Georgia country as you get. And he told us this story, blew our mind.

Mama Z: Yeah. And so, I think I’ve mentioned it before. But he worked at this company that’s local here, and his job was to take formaldehyde and two other toxic chemicals, mix them together, create a granule. And they poured that in all of the animal feed, all of the regular animal feed. And you go to their website and it’s, “For your protection.”

Dr. Z: He had to wear a hazmat suit.

Mama Z: He had to wear a hazmat suit. He had to power wash in power wash out. But he had to stop working there. And everybody else that had stopped working was because they kept getting migraines over and over again. And he was afraid that he had developed a brain tumor. So, he left.

Dr. Z: Yeah. He’s not eating chicken anymore.

Mama Z: No.

Dr. Z: Seriously. You work in a place like that. Again, there are more risks than not. And so, what we’re trying to share is we just want to point out, you all, the research is pretty clear that someone’s chance of enjoying optimal health is greatly diminished if her diet consists primarily of animal fat and protein.

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: And the reason is these low carb fad diets focus on “essential nutrition.” They ignore bioactive compounds. And we know, already, we’ve already talked about this. Bioactive compounds—polyphenols, carotenoids, essential oils, antioxidants—are responsible for your robust health.

So, we have a question for you. What do you want? I mean, it’s kind of rhetorical, but you want to enjoy suboptimal health because you want to lose some quick pounds? You want to lose weight. Or find a different approach.

And I would suggest the Biblical approach, which will help you reach your ideal weight in God’s timing.

Mama Z: That’s right.

Dr. Z: And enjoy long lasting health for years to come.

Mama Z: Yep.

Dr. Z: So, what we want to cover today during the second half of the show is we want to cover what we call our essential eight. And these are the food groups and herbs that form the core of our essential oils diet.

We also want to talk about the two phases of our essential oils diet: the fast track and the essential lifestyle.

But before we do a quick note from out sponsor.

[34:23 – 34:59] Sponsor Spotlight: Thrive Market

Dr. Z: There’s nothing like hearing the doorbell of the delivery person letting me know that a Thrive Market package has landed on our doorstep. It’s like Christmas time every time we get a package.

Mama Z: Yes. From ingredients to snacks, it’s so awesome. And the kids go nuts.

Dr. Z: We love Thrive Market: the convenience, the price, and just the movement because we know that every dollar spent goes towards a more sustainable, healthy, natural world. So, if you haven’t joined, then what are you waiting for? You’re going to absolutely love it.

[35:00 – 47:57] The POWER of Nutrition – How the Essential Oils Diet will transform your health

Dr. Z: All right. So, when we started looking back and we started categorizing and cataloging, really, what we were eating. We saw a trend. And there are eight core food groups that we noticed that we were consuming on a regular basis. And as you would think, and I would just say, praise God. The wisdom of the Lord. Because he directed us to eat this way.

Eating this way made us feel good. Eating this way has helped us raise our children with no vaccines, with no drugs, helping our friends and family recover.

How many people have we helped with broken bones, not have surgery? And people over come cancer, and autoimmunity, and avoid toxic medications, or potentially harmful medical treatments.

Mama Z: Or eventually safely getting off of those medications with their health care provider because of what they’ve done in transformation with this process.

Dr. Z: So, here’s a fundamental concept that everyone must recognize if they’re trying to reach their ideal weight. I’d be really careful about using the word weight loss. We’ve got realize one thing. Some people need to gain weight.

Mama Z: That’s right.

Dr. Z: And some people really need to lose weight. Yet, how much? I don’t know. And I don’t go off of any BMI scale that your health insurance is putting out there. I believe that God has an ideal weight for all us, right?

Mama Z: I agree.

Dr. Z: And remember, muscle weighs more than fat.

Mama Z: Absolutely.

Dr. Z: So, if you’re exercising, like we suggest, and if you’re losing fat, well, you might not lose any pounds, but you feel a lot better. And the next thing you know you lose two sizes. Going back to my fat pants story. I’ll gratefully go down to my 32 inch waist if I’m the same weight, I don’t care, right?

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: And Mama Z wants a big buff hubby anyway, don’t you, Mama Z? She likes when I have big pects. She’s like, “Flex.” She likes it.

Mama Z: Well, and it was really funny when one of the kids came up to Erik when he wasn’t as muscly, and he goes, “Daddy, you have nummies.” And that’s what we call giving our kids breast milk So they kind of name the breast body part, nummies. And so, they went up to daddy, and said, “Oh, you have nummies.”

Dr. Z: Yeah. So, my muscular man pects weren’t so muscular anymore.

Mama Z: They are. They’re muscular now.

Dr. Z: Well, we’ve gone through the transitions of life. And so, what we learned is that a diet rich in bioactive compounds promote all health, encourage fat burning properties and address inflammation, stress, insulin resistance, and hyperglycemia.

So, here’s the concept we want you all to know. And this is the core of our book, especially when we go through the latter few chapters, is toxic overload, whether it’s because of the parabens, the formaldehydes, the mercuries, the fluoride, you name it. Thousands and thousands of chemicals that we’re exposed to, whether it’s in our water, our air, our food, our body care products, our cleaning products, or our thoughts.

Mama Z: Or dare we say, all of that?

Dr. Z: Yep. What that does is create what we call toxic soup, a chemical soup in your body. And what that does, puts a metabolic burden on your body. So, now instead of your metabolism, which was designed by God to be busy at work burning fat, burning calories, regenerating cells, giving your skin a nice glowing glow to it. How many of our skins glow anymore?

If you have dull skin, if you have dull fingernails, you just look at pale people, they’re not healthy. They’re not vibrant.

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: And it’s not a criticism, but how many of our friends gone through chemotherapy treatments and they look around them and everyone has this ashy type of color skin?

Mama Z: Yeah. Grey.

Dr. Z: Because they’re sick. So, if someone’s body is suffering from toxic overload…And many of ours are just by virtue of being alive in America, and in industrial countries around the world.

Then the first thing you need to do is live a detoxed life. That’s the first start. And part of that is the most controllable aspect you have because you often times can’t control the air that you breathe, especially at work, in your car and all of that stuff. You sometimes can’t even control the water that you drink. But one thing you definitely have control over is your food. That’s where you want to start.

And also, if have a moment or two, exercise.

Mama Z: Absolutely.

Dr. Z: Because you can also control your exercise. So, out of all of the foods that we have found, we’ve have categorized these eight that we call the essential eight, that need to be part of everyone’s diet.

What are they?

Mama Z: Seeds, like cacao, hemp, flax, and chia.

Dr. Z: You know what the cool thing is about cacao? What’s cacao?

Mama Z: It’s chocolate.

Dr. Z: I love it. It’s a seed.

Mama Z: But it’s unrefined.

Dr. Z: Yes.

Mama Z: Yes.

Dr. Z: Isn’t it yummy.

Mama Z: Which is a huge part.

Dr. Z: We have some really good chocolate recipes in the book.

Mama Z: We do.

Dr. Z: Raw cacao, baby.

Mama Z: Also, healthy fats and oils, like extra virgin olive oil, and avocado oil, or butter, organic grass-fed. Also, fruit. Like berries, avocados, grapefruit. Cruciferous vegetables.

Dr. Z: Cancer fighting veggies.

Mama Z: Absolutely, broccoli and bok choy. Nuts, almonds and walnuts. Legumes, black beans and lentils.

Dr. Z: Oh, you know what? There is a dynamic duo.

Mama Z: Yes.

Dr. Z: I don’t want to just read a list. We kind of got to give them a little meat and taters here. Sabrina’s a list reader. Come on.

Mama Z: I am. We can go back and talk about it. Let me finish my list.

Dr. Z: Jamming up my chi here.

Mama Z: The dynamic duo of kale and lentils. Also, wild caught fish, like salmon. And tea, matcha, rooibos, and holy basil, also senna.

So, with all of these different things that we found that we ate, there were so many nuggets within here and so many recipes that we had already come up with that included these awesome combos.

Dr. Z: We want you to know that you can have apples again, that you don’t need to be afraid of a carbohydrate content in pineapple or bananas, that you don’t need to worry about grains if you do them the right way. And that’s where we refer you back to a couple episodes ago where we talk about the truth about grains because we cover that in-depth in this book.

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: The truth about grains. And there are really good non GMO, organic, sprouted, ancient grains that our ancestors have lived on since the beginning of time. And then, there’s the rest of the junk that most people’s grocery stores shelves are filled with.

Mama Z: That’s right.

Dr. Z: Especially in America.

Mama Z: Well, I remember when we were back home visiting.

Dr. Z: Yep.

Mama Z: The last time. And I was down the aisle at Meijer in the cereal aisle. And I just remember saying to you, “They should not call this the cereal aisle. This is the sugar aisle.”

Dr. Z: I know. It’s horrible.

Mama Z: I looked at every box that was in this little half aisle thing, and not to say it’s just this grocery store. It’s pretty much almost every grocery store.

Dr. Z: I know. It’s sad. Even whole foods.

Mama Z: And it was like the sugar aisle. I’m like, “This is crazy.” And just knowing and going through the process of detox when it comes to sugar with people. It is really important to weed the junk out of our lives and really focus on these bioactive components.

Dr. Z: So, there’s so many things we want to cover. There’s so many things. You kind of glossed over the dynamic duo. This is page 87. I want to give you guys a really cool tip here because lentils and kale are both bioactive rich foods—again, this is straight from the book—that can be paired to address obesity and malnutrition around the world.

So, say, Clemson University researchers who think that eating lentils and kale are possibly because the two plants collectively contain most of the bioactive compounds and nutrients required for survival. They create a perfect food, which everyone knows kale is good for you. But what about lentils. I don’t want you to be afraid of eating lentils again. And there’s a lot fear about leptins, and other things. That some crazy carbohydrate, anti-carb freaks are talking about. Or they are freaking out about. And that’s scary.

Mama Z: So, you’re saying basically, if you got stuck on a desert island and all you could bring is three things it’d be your Bible, kale, and lentils?

Dr. Z: And water. You’ve got have water. Yes, four things.

So, going one step further, researchers evaluated the two foods, the two based on the food systems approach, concluded that—this is interesting—that kale, which is part of the brassica family, are the perfect complement to the pulse crops, which are lentils.

So, why? Because pulse’s return available nitrogen to the soil. They can improve the yield and nutritional quality of subsequent crops. And, “Thus,”— this is interesting, and this is a little meaty for some people, but this is cool. “Subsidized farmers who had benefit economically from growing pulses and brassica vegetables together to improve soil quality and perhaps even yield, their own diet would also benefit.”

So, this is kind of where we’re looking at, well, do we need a hybridized and cryogenically modified wheat to feed the world? No. Let’s grow lentils and kale in abundance and that could feed the world too. So, that’s what we mean by the dynamic duo.

But when you look at the nutritional components of all of the different foods…And notice we didn’t include dairy. Notice we didn’t include meat. And notice we didn’t include sugar. And in fact, we didn’t even include grains.

Mama Z: And we didn’t include soy, either.

Dr. Z: No. And we want to walk you through those “healthy foods” that aren’t really for you.

So, Sabrina we’ve got to wrap up here with the fast track and the lifestyle because in a nutshell what we’re trying to do is we’re trying to help set you up for success for the rest of your life.

Like right now, we don’t have cheat days. We enjoy coconut milk ice creams. And we enjoy cauliflower crusted pizza or ancient grain sprouted pizza and cakes and cookies in very scarce amounts.

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: We enjoy a lot of fruits and vegetables. And we have Taco Tuesdays, which is in the book, Vegan Taco Dip with beans and avocados and rice. What am I saying? We eat everything. We eat all of the good stuff in abundance. And all of the things that are marginally healthy for us. Thanksgiving turkey, yeah, we’ll have that during Thanksgiving.

Mama Z: And Easter.

Dr. Z: Easter. I personally like lamb once in a while if I’m out to eat.

Mama Z: You usually have that on New Year’s Day.

Dr. Z: Yeah. So, that’s my New Year’s Day treat. And I go back to what our Bible ancestors did. And we know, for example, Jesus ate in abundance, fish, bread, fruits, and vegetables. And it was only during the feast days. Passover. The high days, that they were able to afford, essentially, the meat that they were going to slaughter to consume to celebrate those high feast days.

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: They didn’t have cows and rams and goats in abundance throughout the year. Because you know what you all, this is something that is really important that a lot of us don’t realize is that the most amount of water that is consume by any industry in the world is consumed by the cattle industry. It takes an exorbitant amount of water to not only feed cattle in a sense give them water to drink, but to clean. But also, create the grains, and the meal, and the grass, and all that it is to wash and it’s an exorbitant amount of water.

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: They didn’t have that amount of water 2,000 years ago. They just didn’t have it in abundance. So, why are we saying this? We’re trying to get us back to a way that’s very sustainable.

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: To a way that sets us up for success.

[47:58 – 1:02:24] Get on the Fast Track…Today! Phase one of essential oils diet.

But before we dive into the lifestyle part of our essential oils diet program, we want to give people a quick win.

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: What’s that called?

Mama Z: That is the fast track.

Dr. Z: Yeah. What’s that like?

Mama Z: Well, the fast track, some people kind of ask me to sum it up. And it’s a process of detox, of course. And you’re eliminating the inflammatory things to your body. And some of the excess, even when it comes to grains and other things like that because it takes a process of detox. And going through, it was part of my journey, a fasting phase, that was such a healing time for me. And I know this time has been very healing for other people. And that fasting, meaning like I did, in a water fast way. But fasting the pleasant breads, even the ones that we would do on a more lifestyle basis.

And just to see all of the testimonies of people from their experience with it, walking through the detox of sugar and caffeine and some of the other things. And just how they didn’t realize that this caffeinated beverage or this energy drink, might have been preventing me from losing weight just because of what it did within my body.

And also, the freedom that came with it, that they weren’t attached to any food or beverage because they didn’t get any negative responses once they were cleared of it. Like, “I didn’t have coffee today, and I didn’t coffee yesterday, and I don’t have a headache today” type of a thing.

And some people are used to the first thing in the morning having coffee and knowing that if they went without they’d have a headache. And so, I think God really wants us to live free. And if there’s anything that we’re having in our bodies that is producing a negative response, then we really need to be free of that.

And so, this freedom period is a time to walk it out. It is a discipline. But it is well worth it. And so many people have seen so many benefits from it as well.

Dr. Z: So, our essential fast track phase is a 30-day challenge that we’re giving people to really cut out a lot of the bad stuff, all of the things that we know are inflammatory.

It includes sugar, dairy, grains, meat, alcohol, even organic biodynamic wine, all of that stuff you’ve got to completely abstain from. You can have wild caught fish. You can have some good eggs if you can get some local free range eggs. A lot of shakes. A lot of smoothies. We want you to stay away from all of the stuff that we know that is going to cause any sort of weight gain.

So, you can consider this like a bootcamp. Because it’s relatively tough for some people. And so, we want to set you up for a little bit of success without setting you up for failure. So, we give you some tips on how to shop, how to prepare, meal plans. Like Sabrina always shares, proper planning prevents poor performance. So, today’s dinner becomes tomorrow’s lunch.

You got a two for one deal on that, right?

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: So, we try to give you a lot of these little tips so you can go through this one-month journey. And the way that it was designed was to help you reset your metabolism. Get a quick win. And we will guarantee if you need to lose weight, you will.

I mean it could be anywhere from ten to 30, 40 pounds. And we’ve seen it all. It all depends on how much you need to lose. But we’ve also seen some dramatic transformation of the heart, the spirit, and the mind.

And so, some of our challengers that have done this, they’re off their anxiety medications. Some have really struggled with disassociation and having significant panic attacks, they’re gone.

Mama Z: And other people because of the success and because they have the need to lose more weight, decided that they wanted to stay on the fast track because it was something that was very disciplined for them and they wanted to do that for a longer than 30-day season.

Dr. Z: Yep.

Mama Z: And so, it’s really based on your body because we know that our bodies are all different. And our diet has to be just slightly different too, based on our bio-individuality. Even the essential oils that we use are going to be slightly different just because of how we are.

Dr. Z: Don’t forget there’s a huge part of that.

Mama Z: Absolutely.

Dr. Z: I mean, that’s something like a huge section, we are going to give that in just a few minutes.

Mama Z: Yes.

Dr. Z: Our fat burning roll-on and all of these different things.

But the core, we call it a bootcamp. It’s like a bootcamp experience. And here’s the reason why is it’s time, like Paul says, “to buffet the body, to be in control.” It’s time to tell your sugar cravings, no.

Mama Z: Yes.

Dr. Z: It’s time to tell your mind, you know what I’m going to go to God first, I’m not going to go to food.

Mama Z: That’s right.

Dr. Z: And this is where we cast down idols. This is where it is really potentially challenging for some people who have gone to food who are addicted to food, who have fallen to the sin of gluttony.

We’re not judging you. We’ve battled it ourselves. Myself included. Go back a couple of episodes ago, and listen to my fat pants story. We are overcomers in Christ Jesus Amen.

Mama Z: Amen.

Dr. Z: Amen. So, what we’ve done, is we’ve sat a really rigorous, very achievable plan. And trust us, anyone can achieve this. And part of it is daily movement. Exercise.

We just want to start you walking. Just start walking two miles a day. And then, grow as you feel comfortable to more interval training, more high intensity stuff, more weight resistance.

But you’ve got to do all of the things that you know, including colon cleansing. Whether it’s colonics or enemas, including digital detoxing, putting your phone away for a few hours, dare I say a day? Turning off the router at night and getting your phone away from you so those electromagnetic frequencies aren’t affecting your, yes, metabolism, and your ability to lose weight, and all of these things. So, it is really a cool lifestyle approach.

So, you get through the first 30 days. And trust us, your taste buds will change.

Mama Z: Absolutely.

Dr. Z: You will start feeling good. But what do you do for the rest of your life? That is what the whole book is really about. And that’s what the lifestyle transformation phase is about.

Now that you’ve gotten your quick win—you’ve lost some weight. You’ve reset your metabolism. Your hormones are balancing.—let us set you up for something for the rest of your life.

And here’s a number I want you all to remember. And if you’re taking notes, I want you to write the number 66 really big on your page, or your iPad, or whatever you’re using, tablet, and circle it. Sixty-six. That is the number that researchers have proven is the average amount of time in days it takes to develop a habit. It takes 66 days on average to develop a habit.

So, here’s what we’re asking you to do. Give us 30 days on the fast track, and 30 days on the lifestyle plan. And if you do this right, you should be set for the rest of your life, the rest of your life, which is why we have something that we call, the sixty-day challenge.

And all you have to do is go to EssentialOilsDiet.com. EssentialOilsDiet.com. You buy the book, available everywhere. Everywhere books are sold. You go to EssentialOilsDiet.com. You fill out the form. Give us your name and email. And what we’re going to do is email you a private invitation to our Essential Oils Diet Book 60-day challenge group.

It’s a private support group. And we’re going to walk you through, step by step by step how to do the 60-day challenge. And what’s included in the bonuses that you get when you buy the book? You get a ton of things, not only the support group.

Mama Z: And you know what honestly, for so many people that has been, if they got nothing else, that has been the biggest thing for them.

Dr. Z: It’s huge. It’s huge.

Mama Z: Is the community because when you’re going through a process. Let’s say you read a book, and you’re going through a process of figuring out – because I remember buying a book. And I even remember the name. And I at the time, it had no pictures of anything. I had no idea what I was even looking for in the grocery. I think I went to six different grocery stores, and it took me forever.

Dr. Z: What’s bok choy?

Mama Z: Yeah.

Dr. Z: I remember that. I never heard of bok choy.

Mama Z: Yeah. That was one of them.

Dr. Z: I know it was.

Mama Z: And Chinese five spice, and all of these other things I’d never heard of.

Dr. Z: What’s that?

Mama Z: And it’s a collection of herbs.

Dr. Z: I’m a white guy from Detroit. We didn’t have that in Detroit.

Mama Z: Kind of like Herbs de Provence, but it’s Chinese herbs. So, anyway, I remember being like, “Wow, this is really challenging.” And the cool thing about the group is, and I always joke and say, “I talk in Amazon links,” because I do. And so, it was cool because I would see people sharing things. They’d take pictures of their meals. They would share some of the strategies they used.

Every week we would talk about different things. And I talk about my overcoming journal, that I have the positive quotes, and I’ve mentioned it on here. But that was so important because, especially for friends doing this, they found that instead of dealing with certain stuff they would go to food. Well, when they’d get to that point, they couldn’t because unlike other substances, we still have to eat food even if we’re detoxing from it.

And so, they realized that they needed to shift their focus to God, to prayer, to positive meditation, and other things like that. And it changed what they were doing, and it also made them deal with some of the things that they had stuffed down that they didn’t realize had been stuffed down. So, it was very cleansing, not just internally, but emotionally. And then all of those things helped in other ways.

Dr. Z: You know one of our challengers we have on video, I’m pretty sure it’s up on YouTube at this point. I should know. But we pre-recorded this. This isn’t live. Like on May 6th, so I’m trying to think in the future.

So, one of our challengers shared with us a testimonial when she first started. “These are the things I want. I want to lose 50 pounds. I want to do this.” I want to do that. One thing that really struck me was she said, “I don’t want to be so angry at my kids anymore. I have three kids and I’ve been really short-tempered. And I want to go back to church. We just got out of the habit of going to church.”

And so, I challenged her. Well, this is part of your challenge. Yes, eat these foods. Exercise every day. And go to church. Read your Bible. And then after just a week and a half, two weeks, she posted on the group how it feels great going back to church again with her family. And being much more patient, and kind, and loving to her kids.

Because we know feeling bad makes you irritable. Even myself included. I’ve been very cross with the children at times.

Mama Z: Oh, yeah. If Dr. Z. gets stressed, he’s ouchy.

Dr. Z: Yep. And so, you get hangry. You get angry when you’re hungry. For me, if I’m sleep deprived or stressed, that gets me upset.

Mama Z: And it’s kind of funny because I remember just because of working out as hard and growing up my dad always worked-out really hard. And so, if we got in trouble, we would literally call and say, “Mom, has dad eaten?” “Okay, let me talk to him because I forgot to put gas in the car, and I’m like stranded over here.” “Or I got in a car accident.” Or this or that. We would literally ask, “Has he eaten?”

Dr. Z: Makes a difference.

Mama Z: Yeah, it makes a difference.

Dr. Z: Food doesn’t affect me like that, like you. Food just makes me, if I don’t eat, I get tired. You get angry if you don’t eat, which is sometimes your tendency. We’re all under construction. God loves you too.

Mama Z: We are.

Dr. Z: Anyway. So, here’s the thing. We talk about all of the different things. The essential eight, what to eat, why to eat it, this 30-day bootcamp transition to this lifestyle. And the, here’s a fun thing. All of the tips, like what do you do when you travel? What do you when you’re getting ready for a holiday? How do you deal with kids going back to school? All of the little things that you don’t think about in like a normal diet book. Where it’s like yeah, I just eat these amount of carbs, and amount of fats, and proteins, and count these points.

No, that doesn’t help you in real life.

Mama Z: Exactly.

Dr. Z: Like you, you just had a death in the family, you had go up north to Michigan last minute.

Mama Z: I bring a food suitcase.

Dr. Z: Yeah. You did.

Mama Z: And it helps. And you know my best friend she picked up a couple of items at the store for me.

Dr. Z: Yep.

Mama Z: And that was perfect.

Dr. Z: You have your support group.

Mama Z: And so, no matter where you’re at, you can do this. The other thing that was really surprising to people was, we didn’t want you to get on the scale for 30 days.

Dr. Z: Oh, yeah. We’re not weighing you in and out like that.

Mama Z: No.

Dr. Z: Actually, no for me it was 60. I said don’t weigh yourself. Give us a 60-day challenge. Don’t even weigh yourself for all 60 days. That’s my recommendation.

Mama Z: Well, some of the other people, and some people abided by that. And some people did the half-way point.

Dr. Z: The rebellious ones.

Mama Z: And the thing is, is that when our friend first came to stay, this was before we had put that in motion. She wanted to know where our scale was. And I’m like, “Do we have a scale anymore? I don’t know.” We found it. It was underneath the toilet bowl cleaner, the little brush. And it was holding it up. And it said 60 pounds on it. And I guarantee that toilet brush didn’t weigh 60 pounds. So, it really wasn’t working.

Dr. Z: Not calibrated.

Mama Z: And another thing is we don’t bind ourselves by that. And some of the people we found on, they were weighing themselves every day. And you can’t be a slave to the scale. So, getting out of there was so important. And it was so important for other people because that’s the biggest way to get demotivated is standing on that scale.

Muscle weighs more than fat and you have to see how clothes are fitting and how you’re feeling. And all of the other components that go into this process, are so much more important than what the actual scale says.

[1:02:25 – 1:08:07] How to Get Started with The Essential Oils Diet NOW

Dr. Z: So, when you go to EssentialOilsDiet.com, you buy the book. And again, it’s super discounted. Everywhere, everyone’s discounting this book. It’s a hardcover beautiful book you’re going to love, filled with over 80 bioactive rich recipes, more than three dozen of Mama Z’s exercises, and dozens also of essential oils recipes to help you with everything from soothing inflammation, balance blood sugar, and burn fat. We will give you one in just a few minutes.

Mama Z: Oh, yes.

Dr. Z: But here’s what you get. You get The Essential Oil Diet challenge group, coaching and support ticket. It’s a free gift. That’s a $397 value. It’s group coaching y’all. You get it for free. Open enrollment. And this is the key. Whether you join May 6th or whether you join January 2020, we are going to have this available. And you can go and get access.

And the cool thing is as people do the 60 days, the 60-day essential oils diet challenge, they get so jazzed up they’re becoming mentors for the next group.

Mama Z: They are. They’re excited about it too.

Dr. Z: We have a lot of volunteers.

Mama Z: Yes.

Dr. Z: And one other thing we give as Mama Z shared, in addition to the pictures and all of the things that you get from the group, we’ve created more extras. Sabrina. I haven’t done anything. I don’t know what I did. I just said, “Great job.” You did it yourself. I was emotional support.

Actually, I take that back. I was part of the shopping tour.

Mama Z: And I really wanted you to be a part of it, because even though you don’t really do the shopping—

Dr. Z: I don’t.

Mama Z: And you were like, “Why do I need to be here?” And I’m like, “Well, because I’m going to give the practical tips, but you’re going to give some of the other whys and stuff like that.” So, it’s going to be a good blend.

Dr. Z: We have more than six hours of demo videos, everything from Mama Z walking you through how to make her hibiscus green ice tea, her humus, portobello mushroom stuff with sun-dried tomato. We’re talking like straight up HGTV kind of cooking show, Food Network. It’s really beautiful. Her cruciferous veggie coleslaw, her lasagna. Yes, you can have lasagna. Lemon abundance tea bread. Yes, you can enjoy that.

But more importantly. You mentioned about seeing is sometimes easier, visual learners, is sometimes easier than reading.

Mama Z: Right.

Dr. Z: So, when you’re going through the exercise, the essential exercise section of the book. A lot of you, if you’re like me, you want to see it. So, what Sabrina did with Chris, our awesome video/audio guru over here, they created about three hours worth of demo videos on how to do all of these home exercises with modifications.

So, it doesn’t matter if you’re a 100 pounds overweight and can’t touch your toes, or if you’re a slim college athlete, and you just want to step it up a notch, Mama Z’s been a fitness instructor for 25 years, she’ll show you how to do that.

And as a special gift we have a hour and a half shopping tour where we are going to walk you through at our local natures corner market health food store, how we shop. And we have a live audience of lovely people asking us questions. And you’re going to have a great idea. That’s $197 value.

Three other gifts. I mean, come on. Because we just don’t want you to buy a book and then get lost in the words. So, we have the essential fast track success package, which includes a starter checklist, shopping guide, meal plan, and the essential lifestyle package, which is a starter guide, shopping checklist, and meal plan. Both are at $47 value.

And a golden ticket, a free ticket to watch Mama Z’s Toxic Home Makeover, which is a five part video series that walks you through how we detoxed everything. From our kitchen, our bathroom, our laundry, our garden, and our pantry. Another $47 value.

So, why am I saying that? Because for you to buy a book that Amazon’s got for sale now for like $16. You get that book. You get $735 of special bonuses all as our gift because this is our ministry.

Mama Z: It is.

Dr. Z: No strings attached. Nothing. You don’t even have to give us a receipt number. And by the way I hate that. It’s like, who has the receipt number handy? And I got to go back to my email. We’re just asking you on the honor system. Just tell us that you got the book, and you got it and all of this stuff will be emailed to you. Get the special invite to our group.

And folks we invite to join this essential oil diet lifestyle filled with bioactive rich compounds, learning to live to eat or not eat to live, right? Learning to eat to live, right? Learning to eat to live. And stop living to eat. And getting control over those cravings. And putting food, and exercise, and health and nutrition in the right place in your life.

We love you. We appreciate you. For those of you who have been with us since the very beginning, just thank you. It’s been almost five years since we first launched our website. I almost can’t believe it.

Mama Z: I know. It’s awesome.

Dr. Z: Five years coming up. We actually should have an anniversary, five year.

Mama Z: Whoot whoot.

Dr. Z: You should take me out to dinner or something.

Mama Z: Let’s do it.

Dr. Z: Nice.

Mama Z: Let’s go to Tucson.

Dr. Z: Yeah. Let’s go to Tucson. No, True Food. We love True Food. So, with that said, thank you all. So, go to EssentialOilsDiet.com. Share this with a friend. And do it. Do it because you’re worth it.

Mama Z: You are worth it. You are.

Dr. Z: Do it because you can. Do it because it is your obligation to God to take care of yourself.

Mama Z: Yes.

Dr. Z: And reap the rewards.

Mama Z: Absolutely.

Dr. Z: Because you’ll reap what you sow.

[1:08:08 – 1:10:11] Natural Living Tip from The Essential Oils Diet – Fat-Burning Roll-On

And we have a special gift to wrap up today’s show, our Natural Living tip for you is a recipe from The Essential Oils Diet.

Mama Z: It is. It’s my fat burning roll-on. Now, you put together in a 10- milliliter glass roller bottle, four drops of lime essential oil, three drops of peppermint essential oil, three drops of grapefruit essential oil, two drops of cypress, one drop of eucalyptus, and one drop of cinnamon bark essential oil. So, you put all of those drops of essential oils in your 10-milliliter roll-on bottle and fill the rest up with jojoba, sweet almond, or fractionated coconut oil. And you can put that over your more stubborn areas.

I always like to say get a little fat massager and really massage the skin that you’re really working on, whether it’s your buns, or your thighs, or your flanks, or your abs, or your arms or any of those areas that you’re working on. Or you can also do a wrap as well. And we explain that thoroughly in the book. And it’s very easy to do. But as you’re losing weight or as you’re getting to your ideal weight, taking good care of your skin is really important too so everything grows together and works together. And you will see such a benefit in your body.
